The client had a unique career; She is a creative designer who majored in three main design fields, including interior, architecture, and graphic design. After interviewing the artist and observing her in her working environment, three main elements were highlighted in her identity. The fact that she was an Arab, majored in three creative fields, and worked in academia were all embraced in the design concept.

Visualizing the three main elements that we found interesting in her personality, we translated the designer’s openness and creativity into a circle. While working in academia requires a structured personality, we found that the best shape to reflect structure in her character is the square. Then, those two shapes were merged to craft a customized pattern that reflects her authentic Saudi heritage. The challenge of the project is to create a balance between contemporary and cultural design. We created a simplified logotype to show her name while using a sophisticated pattern to highlight the rich culture that the designer is proud of.

The designer is now Dar Alhekma School of Design and Architecture chair. The identity won an international award (A Design Award).
